         September Apple Block

I have had enough requests for special directions and patterns for the "Monthly Blocks" that I am going to be making these available to those who are interested in purchasing this resource.  You will be provided with full colored pictures, patterns and detailed directions.  There is a different character for each of the months from September through May.

An on line link will be provided to access the directions and patterns.  Please make sure you provide the correct email address for me to be able to send you this link.  There are no shipping charges since this is a digital link.  You will be able to start your projects as soon as you receive this link.

The blocks that the children make use a 2x4x6 inch piece of wood.  They last forever and will be a family treasure for many, many years to come.  Many parents tell me that they still have all of the blocks and use them each year!  You could also use these blocks for your Cub Scouts or Brownies.  The whole year of crafts!

You will receive detailed directions to make the following:

September—Apple man ( see sample)

October   Pumpkin man

November  Turkey

December  Reindeer

January  Snowman

February  2 different blocks for Feb--Cupid and Abe Lincoln

March  Leprechaun

April   Bunny

May  Bee

This is a great time to get started.  I will provide the link for you as soon as I receive payment for you to be able to get started right away on your monthly blocks!!  The cost will be $9.99 with no shipping charges.  If you would like to pay with a credit card, click below on the link.  If you would like to pay by check, you may mail a check for $9.99 to:

 Patterned Egg Homework

The egg project was completed as a home project to reinforce the concept of patterning.  Each child chose the color of the egg that they wanted to decorate.  They received a letter to explain the project.  This is a sample of an egg that was completed with puffy paint.  We received lots of very creative eggs using many different types of materials to decorate.

Easter Cards

This card was made on a folded 9x12 piece of construction paper.  An adult traced each child's hand without the thumb.  The index finger and the pinkie were folded down and glued in the center.  A face was drawn with crayon.  Each child added a message inside.

Bunny Easter Card

This card was made on a full size 12x18 piece of construction paper. The large, white circle was a 5 inch circle and the small circle was 3 1/2 inches for the head.  The paws were made separate and folded under at the top and glued  to make them 3D and stick out.  The ears were made from approximately a 5 x 1 1/2" piece of white construction paper.  A small piece of pink paper was used for the inside of the bunny's ear.  We added a pink cotton ball for the tail and Easter grass at the bottom.

Ducky Card

Our Ducky Card was made with an oval, yellow piece of construction paper approximately 5 inches long and 4 inches wide.  Each child traced their hands for the wings.  Orange construction paper eyes and feet were added.  The little duck has Easter type grass at the bottom.

                     Easter Rabbits

These are two of the samples that I have at home of our dressed Easter Rabbits.  We give each child a pattern for the rabbit and they can choose the wallpaper to make the clothes.  We also have pants and shirt patterns for those who don't want a dress.  These rabbits are about 15 inches long.  But, they can be made smaller.

I have also made these using a 12 inch rabbit and displayed all of them inside a very large Easter basket on the bulletin board with the caption "Happy Easter!"

Easter Bunny Party Favor

Materials needed:
White felt
White thread
Squiggle eyes (approx 1/2 inch)
Embroidery floss or black cord for whiskers
Pink pompom nose
Ribbon for bow
Jelly beans

These bunnies were party favors that I made for the students.  The bunnies were made using white felt.  I didn't realize that the whiskers were so droopy!  I was trying to tie the ears.  Click to enlarge the pattern for the bunny.  I am not sure the size is correct for the pattern when you copy it.  But, it is approximately 11 inches tall.

Cut two of the pattern to the right and stitch all around-- except the area between the ears.  This part is left open to put jelly beans or other candy inside.

The eyes, whiskers and bow were hot glued on the bunny.

Cotton Ball Ducks

I apologize for the poor quality of the picture.  These little ducks were made with two yellow cotton balls glued together with white glue.  We added orange construction paper beak and feet.  Eyes were made with a black Sharpie pen.  The colored cotton balls seem to be widely available now in pastel colors in the spring.  We make bunnies with the pink cotton balls, too.
