This is a collection of some of my favorite activities and projects for June. There are ideas to cover all areas of the curriculum. Many of these ideas can be used throughout the spring and end of the school year. I hope that you enjoy using them, too. Patterns are included with PDF files that make it very easy to copy and use in your classroom. Detailed directions are also provided with each of the activities shown on this page. Summer Bingo
Summer Bingo is a fun game that is great for developing listening skills. A blank grid and a picture card are given in PDF.
June Calendar
Calendar can be used for practicing writing numbers from 1-30. Or, you can use it for recording special events coming up in June.
End-of-the-Year Assessment Tools
Alphabet Letters and Sounds Assessment
A quick and easy assessment grid for testing alphabet letter recognition and sounds. Also tests initial consonant blends and common word endings.
Phonemic Awareness Assessment
This is a great, two page assessment tool for evaluating a student's skills in phonics. It tests beginning, middle and ending word sounds, word sound blending and word segmenting skills. There is space to record testing dates. I apologize for the poor quality of the copy above. The PDF is very clear!
Rhyming Book
This a fun way for kids to learn and reinforce rhyming words in a creative way. Students add a word to rhyme with the picture given and then illustrate their sentence.
King of "ing" Book
This six page book helps to reinforce the "ing" ending and rhyming words. Book uses simple text for easy reading at an emergent level.
King of "ing" Headbands
We make these crowns to go along with our Book of "ing." It's a fun way to teach the word ending of "ing!" The kids love wearing them home to tell parents all about the ING sound.

Spring Baskets
The pattern and directions for making these fun, cone shaped scalloped baskets is provided. They can be used for flowers, treats or to hold lots of things.
Fishbowl Fun
These fun fishbowls can be hung in a window to see through or mounted on a bulletin board.
3-D Flowers
Directions and patterns are given in PDF for making these fun flowers.
Another 3-D flower to make with students. Can be made with or without photos!
Mini Unit on Frogs
All About Frogs Books
This is an eight page, little book for students to read and illustrate for the life cycle of a frog.
Speckled Frogs!
We start our mini unit of frogs
off with making little, speckled frogs. The kids love the
glitter! We also write factual information to go along with
these frogs and call them "Frog Facts" The writing paper,
poem, bulletin board banner, patterns and directions are given to make these
funny fellows.
Frog and Toad Venn Diagram
Students can use this Venn Diagram form to compare frogs and toads.
Frog Headbands
As part of the frog unit, kids loved making froggy headbands.
Sunny Flowers
These fun "sunny" flowers make a terrific Open House bulletin board and/or for end of the year.
Celebrate Flag Day
Celebrate Flag Day on June 14th making a U.S. flag.
Father's Day
Two different Father's Day!
Patterns and insert are given to make these easy, but fun cards!

End-of-the Year
Memory Books
Making these End-of-the-Year memory books is a fun way for students to remember their year in Kindergarten. They will be a treasure as they grow up. There are 10 pages (half sheets) that can be copied. You can pick and choose which pages to complete with your group. All pages are in easy to copy PDF format.
